Rescuing a Fragile Platform, and Rebuilding It for 6,000+ Subscribers - Two Raw Sisters

Two Raw Sisters had 6,000+ paying subscribers and a platform quietly failing beneath them. InApps inherited the unstable codebase, audited every failure point, executed a full refactor, rebuilt the backend CMS, and stabilized all third-party integrations, restoring platform reliability and unblocking feature delivery.

The Challenge

The product was growing. The platform was not keeping up. Two Raw Sisters, a beloved New Zealand food and recipe brand, had built a loyal subscriber base of 6,000+ users on a foundation that was slowly collapsing. The codebase inherited from a previous vendor was fragile, poorly documented, and held together by brittle integrations that broke without warning. Performance was degrading. Every new feature request carried real risk. The team had stopped trusting their own deployment pipeline. With thousands of paying subscribers depending on the platform daily, this wasn't a technical debt problem to schedule for later. It was a business continuity problem happening now.

Our Solution

InApps started with a full code audit and architecture review before touching a single line of production code. Every failure point, integration dependency, and performance bottleneck was mapped first, because fixing symptoms without understanding root causes would have meant building on the same broken foundation. From there, the team executed a complete backend refactor and performance optimisation pass, eliminating the cascading failures that had made the legacy integration layer so unpredictable. Load times dropped. The system stabilised. A new backend CMS was built and deployed, giving the Two Raw Sisters content team full editorial control without engineering involvement for routine updates. All third-party integrations, including Gemini and Claude, were properly abstracted, making the system resilient to future vendor changes. New features followed, built on a foundation the team could finally trust.

InApps stabilized and scaled the Two Raw Sisters recipe app for 6,000+ active subscribers by fixing an inherited unstable codebase, improving performance, and delivering new features with a modern backend CMS — built on AWS with Gemini AI integration.

We came to InApps with a platform that was holding our growth hostage. They didn't just fix the immediate issues — they rebuilt the foundation properly and gave us a system we can actually build on.
